The gateway · Ogden to Provo

The gateway to Salt Lake faces west.

Besides the airport, this is the first thing the world sees of Utah — skiers, founders, fans, and recruits all arrive through the west side. Now $3.5 billion is landing right here. This is where the people who live here see it coming first.

A question for the west side

Whose west
side is it, really?

A $3.5 billion development is going in between the airport and downtown. PowerDistrict is where the people who live and work here get verifiable facts, a place to weigh in, and a stake in what comes next.

We are all the Power District

This is home.
Let's build it right.

Big changes are coming to the area. PowerDistrict gives everyone here the same things: verifiable information, a place for local business, and an open way to be heard.

01 / The Gateway
The why

For a century, the freeway, the rail, and the runway have run through the west side. Now billions are being built here.

The whole state moves through this corridor. Ogden, Layton and Logan to the north; Provo to the south; and the long drive up from St. George, Cedar City and Moab — they all funnel to one airport and one stretch of I-15. And now the Jazz, Utah's NHL team, Real Salt Lake and an MLB expansion bid are drawing the country's attention to this exact spot. Besides the airport, it's the first impression the region makes on the outside world. PowerDistrict is the independent place where the people who live and work here can get the facts, find each other, and be heard.

The stakes

Talked about.
Rarely talked to.

The west side has long been where the region routes its freeways, rail, and air traffic. Now the Power District development, an MLB expansion bid, and the 2034 Games are all taking shape along this corridor.

PowerDistrict is an independent source of information — reporting, a civic desk, and an open comment thread — so the people who live and work here can follow the facts and speak for themselves.

Add your voice

Big changes are coming. You deserve a real say.

PowerDistrict isn't here to cheer the development or fight it — just to give the people who live and work here verifiable information and an open place to be heard. Share your take, list your business, or start a thread.
